Now that we're in October, we can look forward to some exciting new releases of smartphones. Over ten major smartphones were released last month, making it a busy month. With the festive season still in full swing, the month of October sees the introduction of numerous new smartphones. Here is the list of smartphones you can consider buying this festive season:

Vivo X80 PRO Plus

The Vivo X80 Pro Plus is not an iterative upgrade, but rather a substantial one. The rumor mill suggests that the phone will ship with a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor as the primary and a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN2 sensor as the secondary and that it will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset.

JIO Phone 5G

The Jio Phone 5G has been speculated to debut alongside the company's introduction of 5G in India. Codenamed 'Ganga', it is believed to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 480 5G system-on-chip. The Snapdragon chipset included in the Moto G51 is a more affordable option, but it is also an older SoC. The phone is said to have a 6.5-inch HD+ screen that refreshes at 90Hz. The phone also has a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel auxiliary sensor for macro shots. An 8-megapixel front-facing camera is also included. They would have a battery capacity of 5,000 mAH and support 18W rapid charging. It is speculated that the phone will cost between Rs. 8,000 and Rs. 12,000, which is quite reasonable given its relatively modest specifications.

Xiaomi 12 Lite

The Xiaomi 12 Lite has already been released worldwide, and an Indian release is imminent. It has a 6.55-inch, 120Hz-capable Full HD+ AMOLED screen. The Snapdragon 778G SoC is what drives it. A 8MP super duper and 2MP macro camera are part of the 108MP triple camera. There's a 32-megapixel selfie shooter up front. The smartphone is powered by a 4300mAh battery that is compatible with rapid charging at 67W.

Google Pixel 7 series

In a surprising move, Google has announced that its Pixel 7 series will be available in India at the same time it is released everywhere else. It has been a while since we've seen Google's premium Pixel phones in India. Our sole exposure to Google's affordable smartphone lineup ended with the Pixel 3 series. The two handsets have the same Tensor G2 processor. The Pixel 7 Pro will have a 120Hz AMOLED display on its 6.7-inch screen, while the standard Pixel 7 will have a 90Hz display. Its main camera would have 50 megapixels, and the secondary cameras would be unique. Both the Pixel 7 Pro and the Pixel 7 feature ultra-wide cameras with 12 megapixels, but the Pixel 7 Pro is the only one to feature a telephoto camera with 48 megapixels. Both devices will include a 10.8-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Moto G72 is Motorola's most recent 4G smartphone in India. The POLED screen refreshes at 120 hertz and may reach up to 1300 nits of brightness. The phone's brains are a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC. It will have a triple 108-megapixel camera and a battery capable of rapid charging at 33 watts. Out of the box, the phone runs a nearly stock version of Android 12.
