Social media application WhatsApp was not working since the afternoon in what was being regarded as the biggest outage. Several users complained of messages not going through, while others have reported disconnection and the app crashing altogether. The services have resumed now around 2:45 pm. 

Acknowledging the outage, a Meta spokesperson told Reuters that they're aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages. They are working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible.

In India, the affected cities included Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow amomg others. As gathered, users from Italy and Turkey also posted about not being able to send messages. BBC reported that messaging service is also down for users across the UK.
