Delhi: The people of Delhi are in for a treat because they can now indulge in a selection of mouthwatering and delicious dishes from various regions of India. How? You may ask. The answer is in the ongoing Saras Food Festival 2022 organised by the Union Ministry of Rural Development, which commenced on October 28, 2022.

This festival is organised at the Handicraft Bhawan on Baba Kharak Singh Marg in New Delhi which is offering a variety of authentic dishes and flavours from all over India. The food festival will go on till November 10, 2022. In this event, over 150 female entrepreneurs and members of self-help organizations from 17 different states have participated. This celebration of food is undoubtedly unique. Apart from scrumptious food, the festival is also a representation of the empowerment of women. This event gives women business owners and SHG members from 18 states a chance to show off their culinary talents and educate people about Indian food culture. These women are skilled in producing agricultural goods and regional cooking specialities.

Among the diverse cuisines available to festival attendees were kair sagari, gatte ki sabzi, and bajra roti from Rajasthan, Hilsa fish curry from West Bengal, chicken from Telangana, Malabar biryani from Kerala, litti chokha from Bihar, sarson da saag and makki ki roti from Punjab, as well as other well-known food items from other respective states. At this festival, you can also eat food from Haryana, Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Gujarat.

With CCTV cameras and medical rooms, the arrangements at the festival are so to ensure visitors comfort. Here, a wash basin arrangement has also been built for people to wash hands. Occasionally, mock drills for battling fires are also carried out concurrently. Do not forget to visit Saras Food Festival to try every regional delicacy with your friends and family.
