GreNo West: Residents demonstrate against builder due to lack of amenities

GreNo West: The residents of Elegant Ville and Nirala Estate, two residential societies in Greater Noida West, carried out a demonstration against the builder of the societies for not providing basic facilities on Sunday, November 06, 2022.

In the demonstration, the residents of both societies gathered and discussed about the lack of basic facilities in their societies such as regular water supply, electricity, and malfunctioning lifts. In the demonstration, elderly and children also participated. 

During the demonstration, which went on for about an hour, the residents carried out a march against the builder. They also said that if the builder doesn't pay heed to their demands, they'll carry out a demonstration on an even larger scale. The residents allege that the builder charged them the full money in advance and didn't provide them the promised facilities. 

Sachin Gupta, a resident of Elegant Ville Society, Tech Zone Four in Greater Noida West says, "Sometimes, we are deprived of basic facilities like water, there are prolonged electricity cuts, sometimes the lift doesn't work and because there is only one lift in our society, even the elderly are forced are use the stairs for 19 floors."

He also says that due to open electricity boxes and somewhat exposed and mismanaged wires, there is always the fear of fire. Also, he alleges that there is no fire safety equipment in place in their society. 

Another resident of Elegant Ville, on the condition of anonymity, says, "Even after so many complaints, the builder is not doing anything. He's simply ignoring us. A lot of people are facing difficulties due to his negligence."

However, following the demonstration, the builder met with the residents and assured them to resolve their issues.
