Delhi Fire Service Director Atul Garg mentioned that a major part of the building has been damaged and officials are using remote control fire fighting machines to douse the flames.
According to the fire fighting department, they received information around 9:20 pm. As gathered, the narrow lanes of Chandni chowk made it difficult for them to reach the spot.
A video of the incident that is going viral shows the flames spreading dangerously around the Bhagirat palace.
