Delhi: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi 2022 elections are scheduled to be held on December 4, 2022. The counting of the polls is to be done three days further, on December 7, 2022 and the results are also to be announced the same day. These are the first MCD elections following the unification of MCD and delimitation of wards. The councillors for 250 civic wards across Delhi will be elected through these elections under the unified MCD.

Across the national capital, the State Election Commission has identified 3,356 critical booths in 492 locations. The SEC has also made multi-layered security arrangements at the polling booths for smooth conduct of the elections.

The electors to whom Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) has been issues need to carry the same to cast their vote. However, for those to whom EPIC has not been issued or they have lost or misplaced it will need to carry either of the following documents-

  • Aadhaar Card
  • MNREGA Job Card
  • Passbook with photograph issued by bank/post office
  • Driving License
  • PAN Card
  • Indian Passport
  • Health Insurance Smart Card issues under the scheme of Ministry of Labour
  • Smart card issued by RGI under NPR
  • Pension document with photograph
  • Service Identity Cards with photograph issues to employees by Central/State Govt., Public Sector Undertaking/Public Limited Companies
  • Official Identity Cards issued to MPs/MLAs,MLCs
  • Unique Disability ID card


Ahead of the MCD polls, Delhi will observe 'dry days' for three days from, Friday, December 2, 2022 till Sunday, December 4, 2022 and also on the day of counting, December 7, 2022. Thus, the sale of alcohol in shops, clubs, bars and more will be prohibited on these dates.
