Dwarka: Acid attack on minor reported at Mohan Garden

An incident of acid attack was reported during the morning hours in Dwarka. A PCR call was received around 9 am regarding an acid attack on a girl in the area of PS Mohan Garden. According to Police, the 17 years old girl was allegedly attacked using some acid-like substance by two persons on a bike around 7:30 am this morning near Dwarka Mor.

As gathered, the girl was with her younger sister at the time of the incident. Currently, the girl has been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. She has raised suspicion over two persons known to them. One person has been detained by the Police and further investigations are underway.

Delhi Women's Commission Chairperson Swati Maliwal has tweeted about the matter. She wrote that a case of acid attack on a schoolgirl has come to light near Dwarka Mor. Their team was on the way to the hospital to help the victim. Moreover, Delhi Women's Commission has been fighting for years for a complete ban on the retail of acid in the country.
