Delhi: There are numerous monuments in Delhi with a rich history and beautiful architecture. However, at any time of the day, these monuments host hundreds or even thousands of visitors every day. It is a little tricky to find a peaceful less explored place in Delhi where you can go and spend some quality time with yourself. However, we have found this one spot which is peaceful and less explored and where you can go to escape the hustle of everyday life.

Ahinsa Sthal is a Jain temple in Mehrauli, Delhi. This temple was built in 1980. With its beautiful interior and peaceful ambience, this temple has the main deity of the 24th Tirthankar of Jain, Mahavira. The 13 feet 6 inches tall idol has been carved out of a granite rockin Karkala. It weighs around 30 tonnes. The lotus pedestal is flanked by statues of lions with very fine work. There are sculptures depicting Mahavira's message of 'live and let live' with statues of celestial maidens beautifully placed on the sides of the idol.

Although the temple is located on the main road, it is absolutely quiet inside .If you climb some steps to the idol of Mahavira, you will get a panorama view of Delhi. While on the left, you can get a beautiful view of Qutub Minar, whereas in the front, you can see the 'Rajon ki Baoli'. Remember to put your shoes and leather items downstairs. You can witness a beautiful winter sunset from this point. You can also plan a small picnic in the gardens of Ahinsa Sthal. If you want some solitude, it is also a good spot to go and meditate in the open air. The beautiful architecture of the place also adds to its beauty.

You will find a homoeopathy centre at the left of the main entrance which gives free service for the public. They provide medicines too. Drinking water is also available at Ahinsa Sthal.

The nearest metro station from Ahinsa Sthal is Qutub Minar and from there, you can take either take an auto or an e rickshaw to reach this place. You can also walk to Ahinsa Sthal from the metro station as it is just a 15 mins walk. There is no entry fee to go inside Ahinsa Sthal. You can also take a city bus to reach the location, the nearest bus stop is Ahinsa Sthal.
