Allah Rakha Rahman, popularly known as AR Rahman, turns 56 today. Also known as 'Mozart of Madras', Rahman is credited with revolutionising Indian film music through his distinctive compositional approach, and he has definitely paved the way for future sound design in the country. The renowned Tamil music composer has had an illustrious career spanning more than three decades. In addition to penning memorable songs for Indian movies, he has also left his mark on the world of music by having a number of his international works shown in Hollywood, Chinese, and Middle-Eastern films. With his multilingual, timeless compositions, Rahman went on to win an Oscar for his song Jai Ho from the movie Slumdog Millionaire.
