Ghaziabad: No school till January 3, says DM

The district administration of Ghaziabad has ordered a five-day break for all schools in the city up to Class VIII, from December 30 to January 3.

Nidhi Kesharwani, district magistrate, issued the order on December 29 keeping in mind the sharp fall in city temperature last week. According to weather forecast websites, temperatures have dipped lower than 10°C in the past few days.

The inclement weather and fog even saw the city's traffic police roll up their sleeves to avoid traffic mishaps.

Sachin Soni, secretary of Parents Association, lauded the district magistrate's step but added that it would only be effective if all schools in the city followed it.
