Tonsillitis is a very common problem which seems to get worse during the change of season and we need to little more aware about this to avoid further complexity. Tonsil infections may cause pain in the throat and other discomforts like difficulty in swallowing food and broken voice and other related things. There are few other symptoms bad breath, sore throat and pain in the ear. Some may experience fever and headache too.  No need to worry about tonsillitis as there are lots of home remedies and it can be treated successfully at home. Both children and adults may avail home remedies to get rid from tonsil problems.

Tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils, two oval shaped tissues placed at the back of throat. There might be various reasons for tonsillitis, like viral infection, weak immunity, allergies, etc. Tonsillitis is painful but it can be cured with the help of home remedies
There are many successful treatments of tonsillitis at home. 

Gargle with warm salt water

Warm salt water works magically when you suffer from tonsil infections. It will help to reduce the enlarged tonsils. Take a tablespoon of salt and stir it in one glass of warm water. Gargle with it twice or thrice a day.

Use onions

Onions are good for tonsillitis as they can fight infections very steadily. You need to add a few teaspoons of onion juice to one cup of warm water and gargle with the mixture for a few times every day. Onions may not smell good but they will give you some comfort instantly.

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is enriched with some essential properties that can help cure infections. It can be used at the time of gargle. You may add half a tablespoon apple cider vinegar to some warm water and gargle with it two times a day.  Swelling will go down and tonsils will come to normal size and your pain will be dissolved.

Basil

You can use basil which is full of anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. Mix a dozen of basil leaves in a cup of water and boil it for some time. Let it cool down a little and add one teaspoon of lemon juice and sip it warm.

Use Ginger roots

Ginger has very strong anti-inflammatory properties and it works effectively in tonsil infections. You can take a cup of water and mix one tablespoon ginger juice and boil it and let it cool down to some extent and add one tablespoon of honey to the mixture and you can sip it for a great comfort.

Fenugreek Seeds

Fenugreek seeds have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and these are useful to get relief from tonsillitis, pneumonia and several other infections. 

Boil one tablespoon of fenugreek seeds in water, and let it cool to room temperature and then use it for gargling. 

Honey tea 

Warm drinks always comfort sore throat and you can drink tea or coffee to reduce discomforts. Honey is famous for its anti-bacterial properties and if you mix pure honey to your tea then it will be magical.

Add one tablespoon of honey to your warm tea and stir properly to dissolve it. Then drink it warm and it will reduce inflammation and pain.
