Deadline set for beautification of Greater Noida before G20 summit

Greater Noida: On March 15, 2023 (Wednesday), Ritu Maheshwari, the CEO of Greater Noida Authority, chaired a meeting to review the progress of the beautification work being carried out in preparation for the upcoming G-20 summit scheduled for next month. During the meeting, the CEO set a deadline of March 31 for the completion of maintenance work and the commencement of tendering work.

Representatives from various departments, including projects, horticulture, electrical engineering, and public health, attended the meeting. The CEO reviewed the progress of the work being carried out on major roads, intersections, entrances, and markets in a circle-wise manner. The CEO emphasized the need to immediately resurface the roads that require it and repair the others through patching work to ensure there are no potholes on any roads.

The road from the entrance of Greater Noida West to Gautam Budh Balak Inter-University will be resurfaced. To alleviate traffic congestion at Pari Chowk, the CEO instructed the removal of street vendors and the organization of vehicle movement with the help of traffic police. The CEO also requested the design for the beautification of all entrances, including Greater Noida West, Hindon Bridge, Kulesara, and Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, to be provided soon. The authority plans to repair major roundabouts, including Pari Chowk, Char Murti Golchakkar, and Alpha 1, using its own resources and CSR funds. Additionally, 5,000 poles will be fitted with tri-colour strips, and the CEO instructed that all fountains be kept in order. The CEO also urged timely completion of the work on facade lighting, wall painting, sculpture, and painting on metro pillars.

During the G-20 summit, attendees will be stationed at various important places in Greater Noida. To this end, the CEO directed the Horticulture Department to plant flower beds on main roads and repair parks and green belts.

The CEO warned that she would personally inspect the streets after March 31 and take strict action against the officers of the relevant departments if any wear and tear, darkness, or dirt is found. The meeting was attended by ACEOs of the departments, Medha Rupam and Amandeep Duli, OSD Himanshu Verma and Vishu Raja, and all the responsible working groups.
