A broken road adjacent to a local market in Sector 137, Noida, has become an inconvenience for residents in the vicinity. They claim dust from the road has left the market area polluted.
Chauhan Market, right opposite Paras Tierea Apartments in Sector 137, is regularly frequented by residents of the society. It comprises a diagnostics laboratory, two pharmacy outlets, a clinic and a few departmental stores.
Vijay Singh, a resident of Paras Tierea, said he had to regularly go to the market. "But dust from the damaged road has made it difficult for me to visit the market these days," he said.
Dust has also made life miserable for shopkeepers there. Ranjan Gupta, a resident of Paras Tiera Apartments and owner of Star Pharmacy, said his store was covered in dust. He said despite informing Noida Authority about the problem, nothing had been done.
When City Spidey contacted Mukesh Kumar, a junior engineer with Noida Authority, he said the road would only be repaired once excavation work in the area had been completed. He said he would carry out a survey of all roads in the sector soon and repairs would be done only after that. Kumar also said any action would be initiated only after the Assembly elections.
