Construction of a 1-km-long service lane towards Gate No 2 in Sector 23, Noida, is nearing completion. The work has been taken by Noida Authority at an estimated cost of Rs 12 lakh.
The service lane was damaged after the Authority began construction of an elevated expressway just beside it.
SK Samar, RWA secretary of Sector 23, told City Spidey that he had written several letters to the Authority about reconstruction of the service lane. “It had developed big potholes and was becoming impossible to negotiate,” he added.
The Authority responded promptly, saying they would start repairs as soon as work on the elevated expressway was over.
But thankfully, residents didn’t have to wait long and work began on December 19.
SC Mishra, project engineer of Noida Authority, confirmed, “We started early and have set ourselves a January 20 deadline. But we are hoping to complete the work in a week.”
