Noida: The Jal Vayu Vihar Community Centre (JVCC) laughter club, Noida Sector 29, celebrated World Laughter Day on May 7, 2023 with laughter and various other activities like Yoga and songs. 300- laughter yogis became the part of the celebration with their families. World Laughter Day is a special day designated to build global awareness of health, happiness, and world peace through laughter yoga. It is celebrated every year on the first Sunday of May.
Activities of creating laughter, clapping, deep breathing exercises, childlike playful acts, greetings, laughter, and one-minute silence were the parts of the celebration. It was followed by the Bollywood laughter yoga dance created by Dr Madan Khatri. A group named JLY singing troupe entertained the audience with Bollywood and patriotic songs. Commodore Ashok Sahani, Laughter Ambassador of JVCC hosted the laughter session.

Cdr. Narinder Mahajan, a member a member of JVCC says, "This club has had an amazing journey since its inception in 2014 by Commodore Ashok Sahani. We started it with just 5 to 10 people now there are about 50–70 who meet daily and laugh together for 30 minutes.”
Dr Kanika who is also a member of JVCC present on the occasion praised the work of the group for cancer awareness and other health related issues. Col. Herminder Singh another member said, “ I learned laughter which helped in keeping me fit.” The president of the club, Commodore Ashok Sahani said, “ I have been doing this laughter yoga for nine years in my life, and from this, I have understood that laughing is as necessary as breathing. Laughter is a natural.”
