Lieutenant-Governor's message to DDA

Anil Baijal, Lieutenant-Governor of Delhi, visited the headquarters of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on January 12. Baijal reviewed the Authority's processes and emphasised the importance of going digital, eco-friendly drives and timely execution of projects.

Baijal, along with DDA Vice-Chairman Uday Pratap Singh, attended a review meeting that covered DDA's ongoing projects and development initiatives. Vijay Kumar, secretary to the Lieutenant-Governor, and other senior DDA officials were also present at the meeting.

Baijal directed DDA's IT wing to prepare a clear, implementable blueprint for all services on a digital platform within a month, to ensure minimal human interface and maximum governance through the use of technology.

In his address, he stressed the developmental and regulatory role of DDA and asked the officials to strictly monitor the completion of projects by regular coordination with various stakeholders.

He also reviewed the progress on the implementation of Master Plan of Delhi - 2021. He directed the horticulture and landscape wings to work on increasing the green areas in Delhi. On the issue of maintenance of existing commercial complexes, he said a suitable robust mechanism in consultation with local bodies should be worked out for their regular upkeep.

While appreciating the various sports infrastructure facilities and biodiversity parks developed by DDA, he insisted that people be made aware of using the facilities properly so quality could be maintained.
