Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA), a homebuyers' group, warned Amrapali Group's managing director of an indefinite strike if he failed to send a satisfactory response to its letter in three days.

In a strongly worded letter, Shweta Bharti, general secretary of NEFOWA, said that after waiting six years for possession of flats, the builder's commitments to homebuyers rang hollow. In her letter, she accused the builder of quashing the dreams of hundreds of homebuyers, some of whom were overburdened by the pressure of paying both EMIs and rents.

Bharti said they were prepared for the strike against the builder and would stage a dharna outside the builder's office.

When City Spidey tried to contact the Amrapali Group's spokesperson, his mobile phone was found switched off.
