District town planner to look into unauthorised parking in Suncity

The district town planner, Gurgaon, is set to look into the issue of parking of school buses on the internal roads of Suncity, a township in Sector 54, Gurgaon. The Town and Country Planning Department, Haryana, wrote a letter to the officer regarding the issue, following a complaint by the RWA of the township.

The district town planner was also directed to submit a report on the action taken to the deputy commissioner and the city magistrate.

The RWA alleged that the buses of Suncity World School caused major traffic congestion in the area. In December 2016, the RWA had met the deputy commissioner about the issue. The DC had then asked the city magistrate to look into the matter, who had forwarded the complaint to the Town and Country Planning Department.

The RWA claimed that even visitors to the school park their vehicles on the township’s roads and parks. The RWA said it has often asked the school authorities to address the issue but to no effect.

VM Singh, Suncity RWA secretary, told City Spidey, "Sometimes it takes us more than half an hour to reach the main gate. We hope the authorities look into our complaint and take action against the school. If the department fails to take appropriate steps, we will file an RTI."

“We are facing a lot of problems due to the school’s irregularities. Most of the residents get late to work,” said Abhay Poonia, general secretary of the RWA.
