On the eve of the 68th Republic Day, several senior citizens from Dwarka congregated for a laughter challenge organised in Sector 6 of the sub-city. The event saw the city's older population perform their routines on stage, leaving the audience in splits with their jokes, acts and limericks.

All poets tickled the audience's funny bones at the event

Syed Sibte Razi, former governor of Assam, Odisha and Jharkhand;  Yogananad Shastri, former minister of Delhi Government; and Dr CM Bhagat, director of Bhagat Chandra Hospital; were present as chief guests at the event. Addressing the gathering, Syed Sibte Razi said there was a dire need to follow and adopt constitutional values to save the democratic system of India. In his speech, he focused on the preface of the constitution and said the government and the community should join hands to pave way for the country's development and success. Yoganad Shastri, in his speech, focussed on the Indian freedom struggle and the role of Bahadur Shah Zafar and Mahatma Gandhi. He also paid homage to the sacrifice made by freedom fighters such as Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev and Ram Prasad Bismil.
