Societies of the sub-city celebrated the 68th Republic Day in umbrellas and raincoats. The sudden drop in mercury and hours-long showers were not enough to dampen people's spirits, and they came out in large numbers for the flag-hoisting ceremony and other functions.
Most societies celebrated with cultural programmes, sports activities, painting competitions and other fun activities that the RWAs had organised for their residents.
