FedAOA Ghaziabad to knock on every door and encourage residents to vote

To ensure a good voter turnout this elections, FedAOA, an apex body of Ghaziabad AOAs, has decided to knock on residents' doors to encourage them to cast their votes. The federation has identified four-member teams in several Indirapuram societies, which would approach every flat in their society, reminding them to cast their votes on February 11, the day of the election.

Speaking to City Spidey, Alok Kumar, patron of FedAOA, said the initiative was inspired by the Ring a Bell to Avoid Domestic Violence campaign, a popular drive against domestic violence started a couple of years back.

Amrish Garg, a member of FedAOA and a resident of GC Grand who is handling the initiative, told City Spidey that several societies in Indirapuram, such as Amrapali Village, Jaipuria Sunrise Greens, Niho Scottish Gardens, GC Grand, Arihant Harmony, Exotica Elegance, Nirala Eden Park, ATS Advantage and Angel Mercury had already formed their teams and were ready to implement the initiative.

"The AOAs are also considering free breakfast for residents casting their votes and vehicles for women and senior citizens," he added.

"This drive is completely non-political and is aimed at achieving a high voter-turnout from Ghaziabad societies," said Garg.
