A resident of Amrapali Zodiac in Sector 120, Noida, on the night of January 28, was beaten up by a group of residents living on the floor below him.

Ajay Kumar, an engineer living on the 15th floor of tower D had gone down to the 14th floor to request Ankit Mishra and his friends to turn down the music at around 12.30 at night. The group refused to turn the music down and instead beat up Kumar.

Gaurav Pathak, another resident, was shocked to learn that Ankit Mishra, a Supreme Court advocate, could do such a thing. Residents said loud, partying bachelors had become a recurring problem in the society and nothing was being done about it.

Kumar, who now has a bandage wrapped around his head, told City Spidey that his two-month-old baby had not had a wink of sleep in the past three days, owing to the loud music in Mishra's flat. "When I, along with a security guard, approached them to lower the volume, they beat me up," said Kumar. "Hearing the commotion, some other residents came out and called the police."

The society's maintenance staff refused to comment on the matter.

Umed Kumar, SO of Phase-3 police station, said they had lodged a complaint and they were investigating the matter. “We will also take a look at the CCTV footage to see what transpired," he said.
