Supertech Capetown: How two residents got the same parking slot

Pradeep Kumar Singh and Manish Kumar find themselves vying for the same parking slot in the society. Is it merely a case of 'bad luck', as a builder official says, or a case of sheer mismanagement?

Supertech Capetown: How two residents got the same parking slot

Two residents of Supertech Capetown, a society in Sector 74, Noida, are facing a peculiar problem. Both of them have been sold the same parking slot in the society.

When Pradeep Kumar Singh bought a flat in the society, he also bought parking space for Rs 28 lakh along with it. As owner of Flat No CV2-105, he was allotted No 1429 as parking space, according to the allotment letter given to him at the time of booking in February 2016. But he got the shock of his life when he found out this month that a notice had been put up on his allotted parking space saying it was reserved for Flat No CV2-1503.

Singh had rented out his flat last year, and since his tenants didn't have a car until this month, the issue was never brought to his notice. Singh himself stays in a rented flat in Keshav Puram, New Delhi.

“When I spoke to the builder’s officials, they offered me another parking slot. But I want the parking slot mentioned in the allotment letter,” he told City Spidey.

As of now, his tenants are parking their car on an internal road in the society.

Singh added that if the problem was not resolved, he would be forced to initiate legal action against the builder.

Manish Kumar, the owner of Flat No CV2-1503, is just as astonished at this confusion as Singh.

When City Spidey contacted Raj Kumar, head of facility of the society, he said, “There must have been some error while allotting parking spaces.” He termed the situation a case of bad luck and added that the builder was ready to give Singh another parking slot at a better place. “If Singh agrees, the problem can be resolved in minutes,” he added.
