East Delhi: What Deluxe Apartments residents want…

Residents of Deluxe Apartments, a cooperative group housing society in Vasundhara Enclave, have put forth three demands before the managing committee of the society. A group of residents handed over a letter signed by 70 residents to the committee on February 5.

In the letter, residents have asked the managing committee to issue an order to all vehicle owners to observe the speed limit while entering and leaving the society.

Nidhi Singh, a resident, says, “Many car users drive at a high speed which poses a danger to life. Although no untoward incident has occurred, we should take precautions nevertheless. Young drivers cross the speed limit and don’t slow despite speed breakers installed in the society.”

Residents have also demanded intercom facility in the society. SB Rawat, another resident, says, “The intercom facility in the society is lying defunct for the past six months. It’s a necessary tool for security in residential societies.”

A security guard, on condition of anonymity, told City Spidey, said that they have no means of informing the residents about visitors to the society and that they just ask the visitors to sign on the entry register before letting them in.

Residents have also asked the managing committee to organise an open house meeting to discuss various issues in the society.

"We have received the letter and will discuss it in a committee meeting. Some committee members are out of station at the moment," said Rajesh Sharma, secretary of the managing committee.
