Eminent poet Dr Harish Naval was declared the body's patron, while Prem Bihari Mishra, a poet and a resident of Chitrakoot Apartments, Sector 22, was elected as president.

Delhi Poetry Circle forms first governing body in Dwarka

Delhi Poetry Circle, a group of writers and poets from Delhi-NCR, formed its first formal governing body at Chitrakoot Apartments in Sector 22, Dwarka.

Dr Harish Naval was declared the body's patron; Prem Bihari Mishra, a resident of Chitrakoot Apartments, Sector 22, was elected as president; Dr Kirti Kale, resident of New Jyoti Apartments, Sector 4, Dwarka and  Dr  Shabana Nazeer, a resident of Delhi Apartments, Sector 22, were elected as vice-presidents.

Virender Kumar Mansotra from Mohan Garden and Astitwa Ankur from Gurgaon were elected as secretaries, while Manohar Lal Luthra, a resident of New Millennium Apartments, Sector 23, Dwarka, was elected as treasurer.

Shushma Bhandari from Platinum Heights, Sector 18B, Dwarka, Ravinder Kumar from New Roshanpura, Najafgarh, and Pankaj Sharma from Raj Nagar, Palam Colony, were elected as joint secretaries for the body.

Dinesh Chandra Nagar 'Dinesh' from Nav Sansad Vihar, Sector 22, Dwarka, Neena Sahar from High Land Apartments, Sector 12, Dwarka, and Rajinder Mahajan from Noida were chosen as the executive members of the governing body.

"We work towards popularising writing and recitation of poetry," said Prem Bihari Mishra, the president of the governing body. "Delhi Poetry Circle creates platforms for budding poets and writers. We also have sessions where we discuss creative ideas among ourselves."
