Dwarka, Sector 18B: Development work in progress for societies The boundary wall being constructed at Platinum Heights

Residents of Atuliya Apartments and Platinum Heights in Sector 18B, Dwarka, have reason enough to cheer. Finally, area funds have been released to carry out various development works, such as construction of a boundary wall and road repairs.

President of Platinum Heights, Madhusudan Prasad, said to City Spidey, “There was no wall between our society and the vacant green area beyond it — only a barbed wire. It had become a great threat to the security of our society. Incidents of theft and burglary had become common. We had been following up with the authorities for a permanent solution. Finally, area MLA funds have been released for the construction of the much-needed boundary wall.”

Platinum Heights president Madhusudan Prasad points to the barbed wire, which had for so long served as the highly vulnerable boundary wall

The straight boundary wall will also cover Atuliya Apartments, which was also facing security issues.

Besides the wall, an internal road, too, will be repaired for Atuliya Apartments. Its president, DD Khetrapal, said, “We are happy with the initiative, but we want the other roads to be repaired as well. We have four internal roads running on the sides. One is a pukka road, another is being repaired. But we want the other two roads to be repaired and made pukka as well. We also want a guard room to be constructed. There are other issues, such as repairing of the stormwater pipeline coming down from the terrace. We have requested the MLA to look into these issus."

On February 12, area MLA Gulab Singh Yadav inaugurated the works on the society premises in the presence of RWA members and residents.

Yadav said, “A budget of Rs 48 lakh has been sanctioned for the works. I have also asked the RWAs to give the details of the other problems. This work will be completed by May this year.”
