Vaishali: Stray dogs keep joggers out of Sector 4 park

Residents of Sector 4, Vaishali, have been complaining about stray dogs in a park.

Residents who go for morning walks and jogs to Bhim Rao Ambedkar park say they are scared of the dogs in the area. They say there have been incidents in which residents were attacked by dogs.

The park is maintained by Ghaziabad Development Authority, which collects Rs 5 per person for entry into the park. Residents have made several complaints to the Authority but to no effect. Nowadays residents refrain from going to the park.

Neelam Bharadwaj, area councillor, said, “More complaints about the upkeep of the park and stray dogs will be made to GDA.”

When City Spidey spoke to officials of the horticulture department, GDA, they said they were aware of the issue and that the staff deployed at the park regularly chased away the dogs for resident safety, but they kept coming back.
