Gurgaon: Is this the planet of the apes!

Monkeys, it seems, have taken over Gurgaon. Residents from different parts of the city have been complaining about this — and now it’s South City 2 in Sector 50.

The RWA has spoken to the civic authorities several times, but so far nothing has been done to curb the menace.

The monkeys enter homes at will and sometimes get aggressive when under threat. Everybody has been living under the shadow of fear, but the MCG is not too bothered.

RWA president Neeraj Yadav says, “This is scary. We have complained several times to the municipal commissioner. He has assured us of proper action, but very little has been done to curb the menace.”

General secretary of Senior Citizens’ Forum, MM Parthi, told City Spidey, “MCG workers are utterly irresponsible. They don’t even listen to their commissioner! Some time back, they put a big cage in our society — and that, sort of, kept the monkeys at bay. But now, they have removed it and the monkeys have a free run again. Who is responsible for the mess!”

Ex-commandant OP Yadav (Retired) said, “The children are not free to play, and we need to accompany them everywhere. I have to drop my grandson off to his tuition every time due to this. I request the MCG to do something soon.”

Municipal commissioner V Uma Shankar said, “We are certainly looking into the matter. It will be resolved soon.”
