Ashu Verma, the newly elected Ghaziabad mayor, took oath of the post on March 4. District Magistrate Vimal Kumar Sharma administered the oath to Verma.
General VK Singh, a member of parliament and Minister of State (External Affairs), SSP Dharmendra Yadav and a host of local dignitaries were present at the ceremony.
Thanking the residents for their support, Verma promised them a 20 per cent rebate on house tax and the installation of Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants in all municipal wards to ensure the city gets clean drinking water. He added that he would leave no stone unturned for the overall development of Ghaziabad.
We are sure Ghaziabad residents will welcome Verma with open arms.
