Noida residents to take oath to curb pollution

As per a directive by NP Singh, the district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, residents of several Noida societies on March 3 will congregate at their respective community centres and clubhouses between 9 am and 11 am and pledge to curb pollution.

Acknowledging the environmental challenges due to pollution, Singh said the high courts and green courts had issued guidelines to check pollution levels in the city on a regular basis. He said March 3 every year would be celebrated as the Pariyavaran Sankalp Divas. On the day, residents would be sensitised to the mounting threats of pollution.

The Noida RWAs Federation welcomed the decision and appealed to residents to come forward for the cause. They will also need to submit a proof of the oath-taking ceremony with the district administration.
