Registrar orders Ridgewood Estate RWA to clear the air about misuse of funds

Registrar of Firm and Societies, SN Singh, ordered Ridgewood Estate RWA to arrange a general body meeting (GBM) to address allegations against the resident body for financial irregularities.

A resident of the society, Ritu Bagai, had complained to the registrar alleging financial irregularities committed by the RWA. She also alleged that the RWA had misused society funds. Earlier, the registrar had asked the RWA to give a written reply to the complaint.

"I had filed a case in Gurgaon court against the RWA for rigging the elections," said Bagai. "The RWA had hired an expensive lawyer for the case. How did the RWA afford such an expensive lawyer if it is not siphoning funds from the society? I had brought the issue of the RWA misusing society funds to the registrar's notice on December 29 last year. After this the registrar had instructed the RWA to organise a GBM. We are happy with the decision. There are several questions the RWA needs to answer."

Earlier, the RWA had rejected Bagai's demand to call an emergency meeting, saying that such a meeting could not be held at the whim of a single resident.
