Dwarka: Sanitation meetings with RWAs, SDMC, residents

Federation of Cooperative Group housing Societies (CGHS), Dwarka, has been organising meetings with RWAs, managing committees and residents of various societies to discuss a host of civic issues.

Recently meetings were organised in sectors 3,4,5,17,18. During these sessions, the residents interacted with the officials from the municipal corporation and the representatives of the federation.

(Standing) Debasish Baghchi, president of Defence Officers’ Apartments, at the meeting 

General secretary of the federation, Sudha Sinha, said, “We have been working issues such as sanitation. We have met the RWAs, the residents, and the representatives from the sanitation department of the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC). We want to make Dwarka as clean as possible. Acting on our demands, the corporation has provided dustbins to various societies.”

One such meeting was organised at the Defence Officers’ Apartments, Sector 4, on March 5. Representatives of various other societies from sectors 3, 4 and 5 were also present. Debasish Baghchi, president of the society, and also a member of Federation of CGHS, said, “This meeting was organised to discuss the issue of sanitation with the SDMC staff. We also invited representatives from various RWAs. We will soon plan police-public meetings.”

A resident of Sri Agrasen Apartments, AK Parashar, who was also present in the meeting, said, “This is a good beginning  — it will certainly bring accountability in the overall system.”
