Residents of Sri Hari Apartments in Sector 12, Dwarka, have lodged several complaints about the poor condition of a park behind the society. But their demands from the municipal corporation have fallen on deaf ears.
"Several residents from this area use the park," said NC Mishra, president of the society's managing committee. "The park, however, is in a deplorable state. There are no lights. The ground is uneven and there's no grass on it. It also did not have a walkway till about six months ago. We followed up with the municipal corporation and finally got that made. But they did not do a very good job of it. It does not provide a smooth surface to walk on. We have also demanded that the park be made more child-friendly — instal a few equipment such as slides and swings."
"There are many people who love going for walks at night," said RN Singh, secretary of the society's managing committee. "How can they be comfortable going for walks in the dark? It is not safe without lights."
