Security concerns at Divine Meadows

Sec 108, Noida: Residents express displeasure over a local agency handling security and say former labourers are working as guards in the society.

Security concerns at Divine Meadows

About 300 families living in Divine Meadows, a society in Sector 108, Noida, are concerned about the security provided by the maintenance staff.

The society's security is under the charge of a local agency, but residents are demanding that security be handed over to a better agency and not a local one. Residents feel that security should be the maintenance team’s priority, as they are paying a high maintenance charge of Rs 1.5 per sq ft.

Surender Kushwaha, president of the homebuyers’ association of the society, told City Spidey that the security guards were untrained and unprofessional. "They used to work as labourers for the builder, and the builder has now promoted them to work as security guards," he added.

Dhiraj Kumar, a resident, said that there were six security guards on duty at any given time. Five of them were present at the gate and one at the clubhouse. "There are no security guards deployed at the six towers in the society — this is highly unsafe for residents," he added.

When City Spidey contacted Brijesh Kumar, a member of the maintenance staff, he said, “We are facing some financial problems. But we are still trying to solve these issues. We have made an estimate for better security arrangements in the society and it will be forwarded to our project director soon."
