Members of Sushant Lok I RWA on March 19 met local MLA Umesh Aggarwal at their community centre, demanding Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) to take over Sushant Lok's maintenance from the builder immediately.

They said they had been complaining about the society's broken roads, poor sewage system and waterlogging during rains for a long time now and needed MCG to step in to alleviate the issues.

"Gurgaon Metropolitan Development Authority [GMDA] will be fully operational from the financial year starting April 2017," said Aggarwal. "Once GMDA is operational, residents will no longer have to worry about these things. I suggest RWA officials to submit a proposal saying they want MCG to take over, signed by at least 50 per cent of the residents, and give it to GMDA officials. In fact, MCG had even prepared a plan to repair the area's roads. But since Sushant Lok was not under MCG, they did not implement their plan."

"Our meeting with MLA Umesh Aggarwal was good," said AK Nagpal, president of the Sushant Lok RWA. "He assured us of proper action. The builder has left Sushant Lok in very bad shape and failed to provide even the basic facilities. Hopefully, MCG will take over the society once GMDA is operational."
