Gurgaon has a group of 'policemen' robbing people

A bunch of criminals in Gurgaon have come up with an innovative way of robbing people.

Dressed as policemen, these robbers are targeting women on the streets and stealing their jewellery.

Uma Kedia is one of their victims.

Kedia was on her way to the Vyapar Kendra market on March 17 around 4.30 pm when two people dressed as policemen accosted her. "They cautioned me on the jewellery I was wearing and told me to take them off and wrap them in paper," she said. "They were carrying a paper bag, so I took off my jewellery and handed it to them so they could put it in. They must have switched the bag while making small talk, as, when I reached home and took it out, I found that what was handed over to me had artificial jewellery. I immediately lodged an FIR at the Sushant Lok police station."

The SHO Gaurav Phogat said, “We have registered a case against the unknown burglars. We are investigating the case and will try and nab the culprits soon."

More than 30 such cases have been registered with the police last year. Most cases are from Udyog Vihar, Sector 18, Sushant Lok, Sector 29 and Sector 3.
