Dwarka hotspot: Quiet in the afternoon, buzzing by the eve

Think of healthy green teas to the traditional kadak chai and some snacks to go with it, and you can’t help but wish for a few friends to join in and a place to hangout. If you are anywhere close to Sector 9, Dwarka, your wish may just come true.

That's where Chai, Coffee and Biscuit, a café in the sector, comes into the picture. Known for its wide variety of tea served in an open-seating arrangement, one can also order pizzas, burgers, pastas and sandwiches too. Not just that, here liquid joys also include beverages such as shakes, mojitos and ice teas.

Just about 500 metres away from the sector's Metro station and near the popular Singla’s restaurant, the café, with its bright lights and quirky décor, is a big draw among youngsters.

And that includes Sector 8 resident, Sunny Solanki, who has been coming to this cafe since its launch. "I just love its open-air ambiance. I don't think Dwarka has such a café anywhere else."

The café is not just popular with the locals, but also with those coming from other areas. You have, for example, the likes of Prashant Sharma who makes sure he drops by the cafe everytime he visits his sister in Ganpati Apartments, Sector 9. “It was through Zomato that I came to know of this place. Though it’s small, there is nothing like having my evening cuppa here."

"We have a few customers who come from Gurgaon, Janakpuri, Connaught Place and other parts of the city,” says Rajat Mahajan, who co-founded the cafe last year in August.

Afternoons may be a quiet affair with not too many customers, but come evening and the place starts buzzing, with a long queue for a table.

Open from 11 am to 11 pm, must-tries here include Kulhad Wali Mast Chai, Chai Masala Garm, Peach Ice Tea and Strawberry shake. As for eatables, don't miss out on Fried Chicken Lollipops, Egg Bhurji, Masala Maggie and Executive Clun Chicken Sandwich.
