Taking cognizance of numerous protests by parents against fee hike by private schools in Noida, the district inspector of schools (DIOS) has sent notices to seven schools in in the city asking them to explain the reason behind fee hikes. The DIOS has sought a written reply from the schools.

Bheem Singh, DIOS of Noida, told City Spidey that the notices have been sent to Cambridge School, Khaitan Public School, Kothari International School, Apeejay School, Delhi Public School, Somerville School and Maharishi Vidya Mandir.

"Parents of children studying in various schools came to us and gave us formal complaints against the hike in school fees," Singh added.

However, when City Spidey spoke to officials of these schools, they said that they have not received any notice from the DIOS yet and that if they get one, they would reply to the authorities.

K Arunchalam, general secretary of Cambridge School Parent Association (CSPA), said, "I think the change in UP government will make a difference this time. This year, private schools will have to reply to the notices send by DIOS. We are also hopeful that private schools will roll back the hiked fee.”
