Several angry flat buyers on March 29 protested against the builder of Today Homes Canary Greens in Sector 73, Sohna Road, for delay in possession of flats.
Flat buyers, who protested outside the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) office in Sector 14, Gurgaon, said they had approached all concerned authorities with their problem and even lodged a complaint with the CM window, but no action had been taken against the builder.
The buyers have registered their association, Canary Green Buyers Welfare Association (CGBWA), with the Registrar, Firms & Societies.
CGBWA even tried meeting Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar but did not succeed in getting an appointment. It also tried to arrange a meeting with the director-general of the Town and Country Planning Department but were again unsuccessful.
"We had booked our flats in 2010, when the project was launched," said Nitesh Kumar, general secretary, CGBWA. "At that time, the builder had promised us possession by 2014. However, there has been absolutely no work done in the past three years. Whenever we meet the builder, he has some excuse or the other ready."
"We have given all our hard-earned money to the builder. We have already paid more than 90 per cent of the total amount," added Kumar.
Yousuf Mansoori, senior town planner, said, "We have listened to all the grievances of the residents but none of the builder's representatives were present at the meeting. We have told the builder that the company’s managing director must be present at a meeting scheduled on April 6 at 1 pm.”
