Stellar Greens, Noida: Sector park set for a facelift The park in Sector 44, which residents now visit

Residents of Stellar Greens, an upscale residential complex in Sector 44, Noida, have reasons to be happy this summer. Noida Authority has finally decided to restore the neighbourhood park.

Ombeer Singh, director of horticulture, Noida Authority, and other officers visited the park on March 29 to take stock of how much work needed to be done.

Singh said, “We will start repairing the boundary walls soon and replace the entry gates. We will also fix the red-stone pavement and set up swings and benches in the park. We have instructed the gardeners to start watering the grass as well, which is slowly beginning to dry up.”

He added, “We have forwarded the relevant paperwork to the higher authorities for approval. The work was delayed because the model code of conduct was operative in the state. But we can start work now.”

Sprawled across 5 acres, the park has been the picture of civic neglect, with broken boundary walls, defunct lights and an uneven pavement.

Akshay Kapoor, RWA secretary of Stellar Greens, said, “We have been raising these issues over the past two years. But the officers refused to pay any heed. They plunged into action only after residents approached Deepak Agarwal, CEO of Noida Authority. He immediately took cognizance of the issue and gave orders for the beautification of the park.”

Kapoor added, “Strangely, BJP bigwigs Adityanath Yogi and Amit Shah had addressed rallies from this very park in 2014 and 2017, respectively. And yet the park lies in complete neglect.”

“I thank the CEO for his quick response," he added gratefully. "Residents will no longer need to go to the park in Sector 40.”
