The new foot overbridge (FOB) in Sector 82, Noida, has inadvertently become a cause of worry for residents. None of the lights on the FOB are functional. After dusk, the overbridge is completely dark.
Some people also consume alcohol on the overbridge in the evenings, making it unsafe for residents to use.
The lights have not been functioning for over a month, but Noida Authority has done nothing to fix them.
"Women and senior citizens avoid using the overbridge after dusk," said GL Jambhulkar, general secretary of Kendriya Vihar RWA.
When City Spidey took up the matter with the project engineer of Noida Authority, VK Mangalik, he assured us that the problem of non-functional lights would be sorted out within a week. He added that a junior engineer has been told to visit the FOB to get the lights replaced.
