March 10: The buzz in Noida, Greater Noida

Here are City Spidey's top four picks from Noida and Greater Noida:

Ola auto is here: Now, commuters looking for hassle-free, short-distance rides in Noida and Gurgaon can bank on Ola. The cab aggregator announced the launch of its app-based autorickshaw service in the two NCR cities. The service is available at a base fare of Rs 25; Rs 5 for every additional km; and Re 1 for every minute of travel time.

No E-way toll hike: Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) rejected a proposal to hike toll fee on Yamuna Expressway by 12 per cent. Instead, it asked Jaypee Infratech, the operator, to give priority to safety along the high-speed corridor.

Momentum for RERA: In a last-ditch bid to get the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Rera) Bill passed in Parliament, a delegation of homebuyers from Noida and Greater Noida met Union Minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu. The minister assured them all efforts to table the Bill.

Smart-city surveillance: In a survey, Noida Police has earmarked more than 200 locations across the city for installation of high-definition CCTV cameras to improve traffic management. Installation of the cameras is expected to start soon. The move is part of a programme to realise the Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS).
