Gaur Green City, I’puram: The case of the missing truck...

In a rather curious case, the truck of a packer-and-mover company — loaded with household goods of a Gaur Green City resident — has gone missing.

The truck was supposed to reach Nawabganj in Unnao on April 1. It was supposedly hired by a Gurgaon-based logistics service provider, Gati Packers and Movers.

Ram Gopal Rathore, a resident of Gaur Green City, had sent off the stuff on February 27 before leaving for Switzerland. The truck was registered under the number DL-1L-W-2484.

Jigyasu Pan, AOA president of Gaur Green City has taken up the matter in the absence of the Rathore family. He said, “The owners had enquired about the service provider through www.logisticmart.com. Gati Packers and Movers was not registered on the website. But, surprisingly, the family was immediately contacted by the service provider after they had contacted the website.”

Pan added, “We have been trying to track the movement of the truck by calling up both the driver and the firm. The details they had provided were obviously false. The company stopped taking calls from April 1, and the numbers have been switched off since then. They also threatened to file an FIR if we called again."

The residents suspect foul play, and feel the website is in cahoots with the service provider.

Unable to make any headway, the residents lodged a complaint with the Indirapuram police station. An FIR has also been registered.

Speaking to City Spidey, Balram Yadav, officer-in-charge at the Shipra Suncity police post, said, “The police have identified the ID of the telephone numbers. An investigation is under way, and the cheats will be nabbed soon.”
