Jaipuria Sunrise Greens, I’puram: Residents, AOA join hands against builder

Jaipuria Sunrise Greens, I’puram: Residents, AOA join hands against builder

Residents and the AOA of Jaipuria Sunrise Greens, a society in Indirapuram, has decided to not buy prepaid electricity coupons. This is to protest against unexplained charges of Rs 400-Rs 500 per flat in the past month’s power bill.

Residents also complained about the substandard maintenance services provided by the builder and how often they have to wait for a long time before getting the required service.

An emergency residents' meeting was called to address this on the evening of April 4. In it, the residents decided that no home would buy electricity coupons from the maintenance office. A second such meeting has been scheduled for April 8.

Speaking to City Spidey, Ravindra Saini, AOA president, said they have been receiving complaints of substandard services by the builder. The builder, he added, had also added unexplained charges in the prepaid electricity bills. “Till now, no flat owner has bought electricity coupons, and we will protest once the connection is snapped. We have also asked the builder to refund the Interest-Free Maintenance Service [IFMS] funds by April 8," Saini added.

City Spidey took up the matter with Ajay Singh, general manager (services) of JIDPL, the builder. He said they were ready to hand over the society to a valid AOA body, but were unable to do so, since the validity of the current AOA was yet to be decided by the Allahabad High Court. "Just before the elections, the AOA will raise such issues to influence the residents of the society," he added.

About electricity coupons and substandard maintenance services, Singh said there was no compromise on maintenance services and that prepaid electricity meters were installed on the GDA's orders. "Disconnection of power is inevitable, as the connection goes off automatically once the validity of the coupon is over. We are going to issue a notice in this regard," he stated.
