Guess where the party has shifted in G-town

While bars and pubs on the highway have been hit hard in the past few days, others — located in the interiors, such as Sohna Road and Golf Course Road — are busy making quick profits as new party destinations.

Guess where the party has shifted in G-town

While the liquor industry across the country is suffering huge losses, Cyber Hub in Gurgaon is the worst hit, with an estimated revenue loss of Rs 50 crore.

However, some of the city’s unexplored bar, pubs and restaurants are taking advantage of the Supreme Court liquor ban to offer attractive deals to customers. The ones on Golf Course Road and the remaining part of Sector 29 are targeting party hoppers through social media and corporate calling.

Earlier, the bars located in the interiors of Sohna Road and Sector 29 hardly had any footfall. But things stand changed now, and people are heading towards new destinations on Sohna Road and Golf Course Road Extension.

“There are many bars and pubs on Sohna Road, but people hardly come to this stretch. Then they had Cyber Hub to go to. Also, the place was closer to Delhi, so that was a plus for revellers from both Delhi and Noida. They would be stuck in traffic but still avoid taking a longer route to Golf Course Road. But now, it’s party time for us!” said Satya Mohanty, director, Medium Well Done on Golf Course Road.

“I always loved visiting Cyber Hub, and this sudden decision came as a shock to us. So we had to look for other options. I had always heard a lot about 7 Degrees Brauhaus [on Golf Course Road], so we came here. The place was really nice. I wonder how we missed it so long. We have found our new destination, and we are loving it,” confessed Harpreet Kaur, who had come to the place for the first time with a group of friends.

Out of 289 pubs, bars and restaurants in the city, 174 are in the safe zone — and free to serve liquor.

So need we stop the party, people? Sure not.
