To make Dwarka women aware about casting votes for the forthcoming municipal elections on April 23, the Association of Neighbourhood Ladies Get-Together (ANHLGT) organised an event at Karor Apartments, Sector 6, on April 7.

At the event, women spoke about voting rights. The association has been carrying out a voting-awareness campaign since March 24 in various societies across Dwarka.

Besides women sharing their views on elections and voting, children’s elocution was also organised. The homemakers were also made aware of the best way to manage personal finances.

President of ANHLGT, and a resident of Sheetal Vihar Apartments in Sector 23, Cicily Kodiyan, said, “We are going to be holding camps till April 23. Voting for MCD elections is crucial — they are responsible for everyday aspects of our lives, such as sanitation and civic amenities.”

During every camp, there’s a crafts-out-of-waste workshop for children and salad making for the female residents. Mementoes are also given for the two best society gardens of each sector.

Some of the residents present included Chitra Jain from Kamakshi  Apartment; Romila Gandhi from True Friends Society; Satanam Kaur from Mayank Apartments; Vijay Kumari Goyal from Skylark CGHS; and Komal Gupta from Great India Apartment.

Kamaljit Sehrawat, the BJP candidate for MCD polls and a member of ANHLGT, was also present at the event.
