A joint team of the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon and the police department lead an anti-encroachment drive on Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road on April 7.

The MCG team led by Sanjeev Mann, DTP, and Sunil Lathar, assistant engineer, MCG, removed the street vendors and commercial signage from the road. The team also confiscated goods of the defaulters and warned them against future attempts at encroachment.

The traffic police team, on the other hand, dealt with unauthorised car parking on the roadsides.

According to V Umashankar, municipal commissioner, the drive would continue to ensure that MG Road was free from encroachments and unauthorised parking.

“The team is working every day. Encroachments on the road and the sidewalk will not be tolerated as they lead to traffic jams and inconvenience to pedestrians,” he added.
