No sewage connections in these two Sec 74 societies!

Both Supertech Capetown and Grand Ajnara Heritage have been occupied for more than a year but neither has sewer connections. Is Noida Authority bothered?

No sewage connections in these two Sec 74 societies!

People have been living in the high-rise societies of Sector 74 for more than a year, but Noida Authority is yet to set up sewer connections for them.

Residents of Supertech Capetown and Grand Ajnara Heritage cite several incidents of sewer water flooding the society's parks and internal roads in the absence of a system.

Builders of both the societies have no option but to get rid of the sewage on their own. While the sewage from Grand Ajnara Heritage is dumped at a park near the society, that from Supertech Capetown is thrown into a vacant plot behind the society.

Dhanajay Kumar, a resident of Grand Ajnara Heritage, told City Spidey that the builder had deposited money for the sewage connection with Noida Authority, but it is yet to carry out the work.

Bhupendra Routela, a resident of Supertech Capetown, said that at times overflowing sewer water collected at the society gate, making it tough for residents to enter or exit the society.

When City Spidey contacted Parveen Sharma, an officer of the Noida Authority sewage department, he said the Authority had arranged a temporary connection with the sewage treatment plant (STP) at Sector 50. "We do not own most of the land in Sector 74, where the societies are located," said Sharma. "Once we have the land, we will be able to make a permanent connection to another STP at Sector 115."
