Jaipuria Sunrise Greens, I’puram: AOA takes over society from builder

Since the last seven to eight years, several AOAs had struggled to take over the society, but their efforts had been largely unsuccessful owing to a host of unresolved issues. But finally, it's victory for the residents!

Jaipuria Sunrise Greens, I’puram: AOA takes over society from builder

After several failed meetings for facilitating the handover of the society’s maintenance, the AOA of Jaipuria Sunrise Greens, Indirapuram, has forcefully taken over the society from the builder. However, the paperwork of the handover is yet to be done.

Enraged, the representatives of the builder had walked off from the scene.

Since the last seven to eight years, several AOAs had struggled to take over the society, but their efforts had been largely unsuccessful as the issues between the residents and the builder could never be resolved and a mutual agreement could not be reached.

The woes of the residents, however, had been adding up every single day. The maintenance services were divided between the builder and the AOA. While the AOA provided the security and housekeeping services, the builder provided basic services, such as electricity and water. Finally, the residents were angered due to lack of transparency and unexplained charges in the electricity bills.

Speaking to City Spidey, AOA president Ravindra Saini said, “The residents had tried all possible ways for an amicable settlement, but to no avail. We had to forcefully oust the builder and take over the society. We are in the process of appointing new vendors for providing the services erstwhile provided by the builder.”

Saini further added, “Repairing the safety system of the society, like fire-fighting equipment, would be one of primary AOA goals now, besides making the society’s power back up fully functional and sufficient ahead of the summer."

This takeover has been a victory that the residents had been long waiting for. Senior resident Rajpal Kundu said, “The step has been gratefully accepted by the residents. They firmly believe that whatever has been done has been done for our welfare. We completely support the AOA.”

This act of the residents seems to have left the builder’s management sore. Ajay Singh, GM maintenance of JIDPL, the realtor, told City Spidey, “The takeover will be legally challenged by the builder. They have taken the authorities, politicians and other associations on their side. This forceful eviction is not right.”

Singh stuck to his previous claim that the builder was ready to hand over the society to a valid AOA, but were unable to do so, since the validity of the current body was yet to be decided by the Allahabad High Court.
