The senior town planner has referred the case of delay in possession of properties of homebuyers of Universal Aura, a residential project in Sector 82, and Canary Greens, a residential project in Sector 73, to the deputy commissioner, Gurgaon.

The decision was taken at a meeting of several homebuyers and the representatives of the builders with the senior town planner, who is also the chairman of Allottees Grievances Redressal Forum (AGRF).

According to town and country planning department officials, the STP took the step after senior representatives of the builders failed to attend the meeting in spite of a warning.

Dinesh Sharma, a homebuyer of Universal Aura project, told City Spidey, “Only the junior level representatives of the builder were present in the meeting. They came without any preparation or a time frame for possession of flats. The next AGRF meeting of the buyers and the builders with the DC will be held in the first week of May. Directors of both the projects will have to attend the meeting.”

“The representatives submitted documents without the signature of the company director. The company has no director as of now. An FIR against the developer will be filed in the next meeting with the DC. At least there has been some progress on the issue. We are happy about that,” he added.

The representatives of Canary Greens’ builder came to the meeting but they were junior-level officers. Nitesh Kumar, general secretary of Canary Greens Buyers Welfare Association, said, “Finally the builder’s representatives came to the meeting. They were absent in the previous meetings. The came with their project manager and a lawyer.”

“They did not have any information about the project. The chairman asked several questions such as those regarding renewal of license, revival plan of the project and a final date of completion. They didn’t have any answer and came up with false excuses.” he added.

The STP has scheduled another meeting between Canary Green buyers and the developer two days before the meeting with the DC. The company’s director has been asked to attend this meeting.

The STP had also arranged meetings with the homebuyers and the developers earlier regarding the issue on March 28 and April 6.
